Offensive By Design
The Alabama offense under first year coordinator Brian Dabol is a sight to behold. Long has Saban sought an ability to be multiple on offense, to dictate to the defense. But never have we witnessed it brought to bear in the way we are in 2017.
To suggest that the Tide offense is a challenge to defend is an insult to challenging tasks everywhere.
Considering formations ranging from 5 receivers or 2 running backs or 2 Tight Ends or a play making Quarterback, there are 10 skill potential positions to distribute the ball. So far this season, all 10 of those positions have participated directly in the production of offense, and have done so in the person of at least 18 different players so far this season. Meaning Alabama can make a play from any skill position at any time.
Dealing Hurts
Keep your eyes on Jalen Hurts because he is developing right in front of us. Leaning less on the run, staying in the pocket, progressing through his reads, throwing with anticipation, all while remaining calm in the pocket. It’s enough to make your heart grow warm.
You Don’t Know Bama
All the bluster about Saban not having a personality and his sucking the fun out of the game simply serves to identify those not paying attention. If the team swarming Ronnie Clark in celebration of his first touchdown after an injury riddled career isn’t a picture of what’s great about college football then I don’t know what is.
Get’n Defensive
Alabama’s stop squad continues to round into form, and the rest of the league should take notice. While the return of 3 injured linebackers certainly helps, the development of depth along the defensive front is nothing to sneeze at. Tune in to hear the bold expectation we’ve set for this side of the ball.
Mini Game balls
Anyone can read a headline, but which players contributed in more subtle ways to the Tide’s fortune?
Alabama’s Next Opponent
Next up for Alabama is a trip to Kyle Field for a working session with college football’s favorite boy band, the Yell Team Aggies of Texas A&M.
Kick After – a ‘lil nugget that didn’t make the show
I don’t post on our Facebook page very often, but Saturday morning as I was getting into a college football frame of mind, it hit me that I was more and more confident the Tide would Roll. which led me to post this.
On Sunday morning when I reread I almost had a chill at how accurate it ended up being. That was pretty cool.
